He has a single colour machine and he is trying to print a multicolour job in single passes......how can he print successfully on / over a sealed sheet on the second / third pass.

On that type of paper you may want to add some additional driers to the ink or fount solution. Keep the stacks small and put air into them if you can.

ho about next time you print the same job example the job quantity 3000 sheets. divided it to three pallet i mean after 1000 sheets you stop the press and put another 1000 sheets on other pallet and so on. this may help the ink drying process.just a quick solution ......

Try some Varn compound 747 i find it helps with dryng without adversly effecting ink chemistry and as Mr Heidelberg said add a touch of cobalt drier to your fount. Small stacks and plenty of airing.
    Good luck

Next time I would contact your ink vendor and tell him to formulate the ink for you so it has the proper driers. That sheet probably has a finish that is preventing any absorption from ink. Winding the stock when you're able to would be your best bet at this point. The ink has to be cured before you run it back through on impression or the ink will lift off onto the blanket. I'm not sure what the job looks like, could the heavy coverage been run on the final pass . If it's just black under the transparent color just over print it. You still have to take care of your drying issue but it may help produce the job quicker. Buy a multi- color press and seal it in-line. lol

    Good luck,

We had a similar job we ran and ordered special ink in for it. We ended up changing stock with the customer and sent the bill for our time+materials back to our ink supplier. We ran it through a drier and ran drying agents in the ink as suggested but it was still wet 2 weeks later.

Most defenatly contact your ink supplier, you need to give him a sample of the paper to be used. He then has to formulate the ink drying. Sometimes the operator can add too much driers manually to the ink, this can cause other problems.
