Default Heidelberg QM 46-2 Water Problems

On my second color unit the water metering roller is bad on the non-op side. It has what lookes like some abrasion to it. My question is this. Does anybody think that this abrasion or (pitting) allows the machine to carry too much water in turn gives me many problems with color consistancy and my colors always looking a little washed out or faded? I've been printing over thirty years and I feel my thoughts are correct with whats going on but I haven't delt with Heidelberg direct as yet. The 2nd color unit in general seems out of adjustment and isn't laying down a crisp and clean color.

remove and clean white plastic sides off meterng rollers. also ensure that you are not running water only, always mix with font solution
