    Hi:
We just bought a used Hamada E47S 2002 model. The first head works fine but when we try to engage the second head, it will only inch...it will not run? Any ideas why?
    Thanks!

It has to be a problem with the guard circuit , Check the switches on the guards and any connecting looms.

Thanks for your reply. We've been looking at the wire loom and one of the wires seems like it may have been pinched around the NOPS. Could that cause a problem?

Yes if the wire is broken, You could do a point to point test with a AMP meter to check for continuity . To be honest I think this would be a 20 min call for a tech. I have done loads of these type calls.

We did not get to try the meter...but the gray part of the wire has a hole in it. I took a picture but don't know how to send it to you.

Its possible you have a broken wire but you really need to get a meter to check it properly, Or you could fly me over to do it for you..lol

We could have a beer while you fix it. lol! Unfortunately, the wire tested out okay with the meter. They tested all of the wires and they had continuity. Any other ideas?

Repairman coming on Tuesday. Never could figure out what's wrong. He's confident he can get it run perfectly. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Sounds like one of the micro safety switches is on the fritz or needs adjusting postion wise. Hopefully something simple. Hamadas are normally good running machines. The newer ones a bit over complicated for a small press but still run well.

The repairman came and was able to fix the problem...my brother in law, a printer all his life, had taken off a wire and reconnected it incorrectly on only 2 of the 3 prongs of the connection. My husband remembered asking him why he was doing that. There was one other switch that had some oil on it but the repairman said it was working. Only $550 for travel time and 2 hours of repair time to find out we probably caused the problem ourselves. Good thing he was helping us set up our new press :(

Similar problem to my machine too. Mine is Hamada E47 bought last 2013. It has a Mikom PLC and a Fuling Inverter. Did try to set the Inverter operation from Terminal to Keyboard and the machine run smoothly without counters, sensors and impression. This means the Inverter works fine and the PLC board has a problem. All connections and wire were all ok and tested voltmeter continuinity for cut wires. PLC has a program and might be corrupted. It's a Mikom PLC MVP40ESO1R (Rev:2.04) Anybody knows how to check the program, reprogram, connecting to PC and definitely how to solve the problem? A big thanks to those who can share.
