I would like to print a newspaper, i have no experience on offset at all, a would like to print 5,000 to 10,000 newspapers a day so here are my questions.

    1. What is a a 2 color offset ? (does it mean i can only print black and white ?)

    2. If i buy a 4 color offset can i print full color ?

    3. What is the process for printing a newspaper ?
I have the design on the computer can i plug in the computer on the offset ?

    4. Which website will you recommend me to buy used offset and supplies for the offset ?

    regards

I will really appreciate your advice thanks 1000 times.

I hope someone comes along who will give you some better advice; I have absolutely zero experience with web newspaper presses, but here are my two cents until someone with more experience comes along to answer your question:

A 1 color press is black and white. A two color is just that, two colors which enables you to print a color plus black in a pass. Or 2 alternately are configured with a bar to flip the paper between the two in order to print both sides in one pass.
Yes, Cyan Magenta Yellow and Black for standard process color.

What is your budget? The most modern in sheetfed terms is a direct imaging press where the plates are imaged via laser directly on the press and then the burned away substrate is washed away and within 10 minutes you can begin running the job with reduced hands-on work. I suspect by the nature of your questions you may be buying older used presses though to start where you're using a Comptuer To Plate device more modern than the press itself to create the plates directly from your software and then mounting them on the press, etc.

What size newspaper are you wanting to print?

Hopefully someone who runs a web press will come along and give you better pointers for getting started.

My advice; keep your money in your pocket. Then go get a job at a newspaper for the next 10 years. Then deciede if you still want to throw your money in the fan. John.

Hey now, don't kill a dream ;) I think your advice is very sensible to get the experience first to not lose money investing in the wrong equipment "taking a wild leap before you learn to walk", but realizing a dream for yourself can be truly priceless too...

here in the us large newspaper companies are dying to do print runs like yours. they do weeklies and super market flyers etc... perhaps contacting your local newpaper would be more cost effective than printing yourself
