I found a replacement for the lower form roller on which the
rubber is wider than the old roller (and the existing upper form)

would it cause any problems when installed like scumming etc..
As I messed up with both forms and water oscillator it would be useful
to figure this out before attempting to readjust the rollers.

I heard that It's better to use light grade oil (eg. sewing machine oil)for the vaccum pump
would be useful or shall I continue with engine oil no. 40.

    importance of good ink rollers

I've got to share this with you guys

The wide lower form worked wonders for me. It allowed for more and better water transfer to the plate couldn't hope for better results.

Now I appreciate the importance of good ink rollers not just for ink but better water transfer.

The roller keeps pounding when passing through the cylinder gap though. it 63 mm diameter how to remedy this.the roller was adjusted for a 4mm strip.

I'm now thinking to acquire a wide rubber upper form roller (27cm).

ps. what's the best grade of hydraulic oil for a guillotine.

Each is different. For instance Challenge cutters use 3 different grades of hydraulic fluid that I know of. Try to find out what your operator manual calls for.

How often are you having too replace the oil in the reservoir? You should be using about 1 ounce about every 40 - 80 operating hours depending on how strong a vacuum is being used. Using a 40 weight is pretty heavy but as long as its going through the system. I normally use a 10 SAE compressor oil and go to 30 if it goes through too fast or blows through the height regulators onto the papers edge. Bottom line is compressor gets lubed.
