I have an AB Dick 9810 that I have some feeding issues with. I can be running and everything will be fine and it will skip impression. I can adjust the screw on the non op side until it will either stay latched or skip when I back it off. Will run fine and then start again. I have adjusted the impression cylinder latch cam on the non op side. It also seems to have something to do with the impression cylinder pressure. When you go to different types of paper, envelopes, etc. you constantly will have to adjust. Any ideas on what could be wrong.

Sounds like your impression switch is hitting and missing. Take it off and try cleaning that out make sure impression kicks on and off while you hit it manually should hear it click

I offer cheap offset press repair for local shops I specialize in abdick and ryobi(54868) will travel if needed

This press has paper feelers, not the black box like on a 9840 or 9850.

Ah yes my bad haven't worked on one in quite awhile mostly 9840's and 50's. Let me rack my brain a bit over night and I will let ya know what I come up with. Kinda hard to spot the problem without seeing it happen

Have you had any jams lately? check your cylinder gapping between your impression cylinder and blanket cylinder(without blanket) if it's to much your latch wont engage properly and therefor slip off

Hand feed a sheet of 20lb. bond with gap control set to 10 (impression pressure behind handwheel) while observing on the non-op side, till the inside cam located on the blanket cylinder shaft pushes the truck on the power lever till power lever pushes the impression cylinder lever to its maximum throw and the latch should be engaging. Adjust the screw so that there is a .005 gap between the latch and the top of the lever. On the right side of the lever where latch and lever would hook should be .046 gap. Adjust gap with the truck (round bearing) on the impression lever by loosening the 7/16 nut and turning the eccentric with a standard screwdriver to meet specs. If condition persist, look where the paper sensors are located look to the non-op side where the springs are located. Under the lowest spring there is a set screw that attaches the spring anchor to the paper sensor lever. Make sure it is tight. Also there is a chrome lever that latches and stops the cam follower on the outside cam that operates the imp. latching. If the pins are worn in this assembly the latching will be inconsistant. Replace pins.
